Q&A: Do I need a license to sell my produce at a flea market?

Question by Emily: Do I need a license to sell my produce at a flea market?
I have a home garden with excess produce. (I also have room to start growing a lot more.) There is a local flea market where vendors can sell food products and produce. I was wondering: do I need any sort of license to sell my produce there?
I’m in Sumter County, FL and may want to sell in other parts of FL as well.

Maybe. It depends on where this flea market is. Some states and local governments do require licences for that sort of thing. It’s a shame that they make it so difficult for someone to start a business. This type of over regulation hurts the economy.
